Darjeeling: Where the Himalayas Embrace the Clouds

Darjeeling, which is the smallest Himalaya's town of Western Bengal, in India, is not only a mountain station. It is a symphony of misty summits, gardens and emerald hard cultures that whispered stories of Tibetan, Nepalese and colonial heritage. Supervised by Nepal, Bhutan and Sikkim, his name comes from the Tibetan words "Dorje" (Thunderbolt) and "Ling" (Land) and captivates his dramatic and soul terrain.

Weather: The Ever-Changing Moods of the Queen of Hills

Darjeeling’s weather dances to a seasonal rhythm, each offering distinct experiences:

  • Spring (March - April): Temperature: 6°C - 17°C. Rhododendron and magnolia explode with raspberries and white, drawing hills in confetti. Clean Sky reveals Kanchenjunga’s snow.
  • Summer (May–mid June): 11°C - 19°C. First season with perfect sunny days for walking. The cloaks are fresh, golden afternoons. This is the moment when Darjeeling about his most lively.
  • Monsoon (Mid June-September): 13°C - 19°C. The persistent mist by tea gardens, humidity strikes 90% and sometimes blocks the roads. An atmospheric paradise soaked in rain for national parks in search of loneliness is closed for fauna twinning times.
  • Autumn (October–November): 6°C - 18°C. Crisp air, cobalt skies, and unmatched views of Kanchenjunga. Ideal for photography and festivals like Diwali.
  • Winter (December–February): 0°C - 10°C. Frost etches windowpanes, and Tiger Hill occasionally dons snow. Pack heavy woolens—hotels lack central heating, but electric blankets offer cozy refuge.
